1847 Giant of a Swedish Mora Wedding Grandfather Clock
I will update pictures once I can move some of the clocks around. This a tall example of a Swedish Mora grandfather clock most likely provided as a wedding gift. Grandfather clocks were a traditional wedding gift. This one is a solid pine case painted primary in black color with gold color accents. The hood has convex glass, steel hinged and latching hardware. The hood has a gold colored raised and scrolled crown. The middle section door is steel hinged with a larger pendulum viewing pane and latching hardware. The date of 1847 and two sets of initials are painted on the upper half. The base section curves inward at the bottom edge.
